RRB Group D Exam 2018 Syllabus & Pattern

Railway Recruitment Board has uploaded the RRB Group D examination pattern for the calendar year 2018 available. The Group D exam is slated to be conducted from 17th October. Therefore, candidates who submitted application for the recruitment previously this year and have been studying for the same test can presently verify the paper pattern to know how many questions would be demanded from a specific section, the time allotted of the test etc. Further the exam venue, date, shift timings will be announced 10 days prior to the commence of Computer Based Test.

The Railway Recruitment Board has released the exam pattern on 29th August.

  • The CBT questions will be asked from 4 sections namely General Intelligence and Reasoning, Mathematics, General Science and General Awareness and Current Affairs.
  • The 100 questions are breaked into 25, 30, 25, 20 for Maths, General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Science and General Awareness and Current Affairs respectively.
  • The candidate should complete the test in one and half-an-hour time with the exception to PwD (Persons with Disabilities) having 120 minutes to finish.

The syllabus include

Maths – Decimals, Fractions, LCM, Number system, BODMAS, Percentages, Mensuration, HCF, Ratio and Proportion, Time and Work, Simple and Compound Interest, Profit and Loss, Algebra, Time and Distance, Geometry and Trigonometry, Age Calculations, Calendar & Clock, Elementary Statistics, Square root, Pipes & Cistern etc.

General Intelligence & Reasoning comprises Coding and Decoding, Mathematical operations, Directions, Analogies, Alphabetical and Number Series, Relationships, Syllogism, Jumbling, Conclusions and Decision making, Similarities and Differences, Venn Diagram, Data Interpretation and Sufficiency, Analytical Reasoning, Classification, Statement – Arguments and Assumptions etc.

General Science topics includes Physics, Chemistry & Life Sciences of the tenth class level.

General Awareness on current affairs like Culture, Personalities, Politics, Economics, Science and Technology, Sports etc.

The selection rule for the candidates is to pass the 1st level Computer Based Test so as to head to Physical Efficiency Test followed by Document verification.
